From: TWO ON TOUR - Bk 1 - FIVE EASY DUETS

By Helen Pace
In Trip to the North Pole (one of five fantastical duets), early beginners love creating the jingling sounds of an approaching sleigh. They excitedly imagine a snowy adventure, as they play "Want to take a sleigh ride, help me hitch the reindeer...," and they have great fun making the sleigh magically recede into the distance as sleigh bells "fade away."
Many activities may be added as students play this happy little piece. Depending on the class, some students will enjoy "being reindeer" pulling a sleigh while two students play the duet. Everyone will like accompanying duet players with real jingle bells or other instruments. Students will also enjoy making up their own melodies to the fun-filled words. Some will want to incorporate stories, and so on.
